PUUF is proud to be a Faith-Based Member and Endorsing Organization of Health Care for All Oregon (https://www.hcao.org). For over 20 years, HCAO has been working for an equitable, affordable, high-quality, comprehensive, publicly funded universal health care system. In 2022 Oregonians voted to amend the State Constitution to include these words: “It is the obligation of the state to ensure that every resident of Oregon has access to cost-effective, clinically appropriate and affordable health care as a fundamental right”. Legislation then created the The Universal Health Plan Governance Board which is currently designing a detailed, publicly funded, single payer universal health care system for submission to the Oregon Legislature in 2026. It is hoped that an initiative will be put to the voters in 2027 or 2028 for universal health care to become a reality by 2030. UU’s believe that health care is a human right, so PUUF proudly supports HCAO in their work to ensure this right in Oregon
