SUMMARY:The History of Beltane and the Maypole
DESCRIPTION:Beltane is the Gaelic May Day Festival. Most commonly it is held on May 1st\, or about halfway between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Historically\, it was widely observed throughout Ireland\, Scotland and the Isle of Man. It is one of the four Gaelic Festivals – along with Samhain\, Imbolc and Lughnasadh. \n\n  \n~Open hearts\, open minds\, room for all theologies\, including yours~\nWe are meeting in person at the First Presbyterian Church of Astoria. The service will also be live-streamed via Zoom for those who are not comfortable attending in person. Masks are now optional. If you are not feeling well\, please wear a mask\, or attend via Zoom. \n\nWe will have coffee hour after the service in Fellowship Hall.

DESCRIPTION:Noted local violinist Kim Angelis will talk about the twists\, turns and surprises of her journey through breast cancer treatment\, and how they affected her musical odyssey.  She will also perform compositions that emerged from that experience. \n  \n~Open hearts\, open minds\, room for all theologies\, including yours~\n  \nWe are meeting in person at the First Presbyterian Church of Astoria. The service will also be live-streamed via Zoom for those who are not comfortable attending in person. Masks are now optional. If you are not feeling well\, please wear a mask\, or attend via Zoom. \n  \nWe will have coffee hour after the service in Fellowship Hall.\n

DESCRIPTION:Tillamook County Coffee Klatch this month is at June’s home in Manzanita as usual.  A reminder has been sent out to the regular attendees with address and directions to June’s house. \nTillamook County residents who would like to attend but who didn’t receive the reminder\, can email Kit (lilyloosy4@gmail.com) to see if there is space available. \nThe coffee klatches\, at the present time\, are meeting in private homes\, outdoors if weather permits or indoors with social distancing observed. \n* The rules: all participants must be double vaxxed and also boosted\, and may be asked to rsvp in advance. .  We’ll wear masks when we’re not eating or drinking\, as we may be indoors.  If we take good precautions\, we can be safe in our socializing.
