There is no Zoom service this week. \n  \nDo come to Ft Stevens Shelter A\n\nBring a dish for a potluck picnic at Coffenbury Lake in Fort Stevens State Park\, Shelter A (same location as last year). SUMMARY:Solidarity: Celebrating Labor and Labor Day
DESCRIPTION:Laura Gordon\n \n\nOn Labor Day we rest and enjoy the last days of summer. We should not forget that the collective actions of organized labor are responsible for us being able to rest\, to have an 8 hour work day and a minimum wage. Rising union membership after WWII lead to an expanding middle class\, but the decline of unions since the Regan era contributed to widening wealth inequality. Today\, labor unions are finding new solidarity across many sectors\, which is certainly a reason to celebrate this Labor Day.\n\n\n~Open hearts\, open minds\, room for all theologies\, including yours~\n  \nWe are meeting in person at the First Presbyterian Church of Astoria.
