SUMMARY:A Short Journey Through My Kenai Life
DESCRIPTION:Veja Lahti\n\n\nVeja Lahti lived in Alaska for nearly thirty years. Her husband\, Emery\, was Native Alaskan\, and very involved in Native politics. Through him\, Veja became actively involved in the Native community in Alaska as well. Her experiences illustrate the persistence of Native Alaskans in preserving their culture\, heritage\, community\, and identity\, and also the effects of colonization by first the Russians and then by white Americans. Through drumming and storytelling\, we will have you experience some of Veja’s life in Kenai\, Alaska. \n  \n\n~Open hearts\, open minds\, room for all theologies\, including yours~\n  \nWe are meeting in person at the First Presbyterian Church of Astoria. The service will also be live-streamed via Zoom for those who are not comfortable attending in person.  Masks are now optional but strongly advised. If you are not feeling well\, please wear a mask\, or attend via Zoom. \n  \n \nReligious Education for Children will occur during the regular service. \nContact Adriana at Puufreligioused@Pacuuf.org for more information. \n  \n \nJoin us for Coffee Hour after the service in Fellowship Hall!
