Sunday November 19

On Sunday, Nov. 19, our speaker will be Alan Evans, the Director of Helping Hands Re-entry Outreach Centers.  Helping Hands began in Seaside as “Thugz Off Drugs” and has now morphed into a program that encompasses 11 facilities in Clatsop, Tillamook, Yamhill, & Lincoln Counties.  Their mission is to provide a helping hand to a sustainable life through resources, recovery, and re-entry.

The program includes:

  • Individual or family housing *Mandatory case management
  • Mandatory volunteer hours *Vocational assistance
  • Access to local resources *Basic education of life skills
  • Random drug & alcohol testing *Recovery support

Come and hear Alan’s personal story and the program he now guides.  Invite your friends and neighbors because we need to bring this program to Astoria.  Let’s work together to get the homeless off the streets and into a program that will restore their purpose and dignity.
